Five lakh Sinopharm vaccines donated by the Chinese government reached Dhaka
Five lakh Chinese Sinipharm vaccines given as gifts to Bangladesh have arrived in Dhaka. Sources at the Chinese embassy in Dhaka informed the matter.
According to Chinese embassy sources, the Bangladesh Air Force (S-3 AGF) flight arrived in Dhaka from Beijing at 5:31 am on Wednesday (May 12).
According to the source, the vaccines, which reached Dhaka, will be officially handed over to Bangladesh by China at the state guest house 'Padma' at 11:30 am today.
Meanwhile, even though the five lakh doses of vaccine as a gift have arrived, it may take some more time for the vaccine to arrive commercially from China as per the demand of Bangladesh.
Earlier on Tuesday (May 11), the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) of the Ministry of Defense was informed that a special cargo plane of the Bangladesh Air Force had gone to Beijing to bring the vaccine.
Chinese Ambassador to Dhaka Li Jiming said on Monday (May 10th) that China will help Bangladesh to deal with the Corona pandemic. Five lakh Sinopharm doses of vaccines will be gifted for this purpose. The vaccine will come on May 12. A few days ago, the World Health Organization approved the vaccine, he added.
